When I consider the performance of Mr. Ford over the reporting year, the word “dynamic” comes to mind. Enthusiasm commitment and dedication are all there, plus confidence and the ability to build relationships and identify new tasks and growth areas. A man for the present and a man for the future. His enthusiasm is infectious and as a result he motivates his staff to perform to high standards. His negotiating skills are constantly tested in his dealings with outside bodies. In this regard he has most ably represented the MPS. His performance and that of his Section have been recognized & valued well beyond the bounds of the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS). I am also aware that saturation point was reached & thanks to Mr. Ford’s leadership and skill, that his Section performed to the absolute limits of their considerable abilities. It is no coincidence that following Mr. Ford’s criteria review, which refocused his Team’s input to those cases which were likely to yield results of significance, that the Team continued to perform above all reasonable expectations. His Team’s performance, also emphasize his leadership and ‘person’ management qualities in that he was clearly able to extract the maximum possible response from a highly motivated staff. Although he has nurtured the Team from inception to an Operational Unit of enviable reputation, providing a ‘cradle to grave’ service, and recognized by Her Majesty’s Customs & Excise throughout the Country as the best.
